PROFILE:
David Neuman began his culinary journey in 1985 as a Comis Chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C., later moving into the specialty and natural foods retail space with leadership roles at Sutton Place Gourmet and Whole Foods Market. He transitioned into food manufacturing in 1996 with Nature’s Path Organic Foods, where he rose to Executive VP of Sales and Marketing, helping launch over 100 innovative products and contributing to industry standards like organic certification and whole grain labeling. From 2005, David served as President and Partner of Lucini Italia®, elevating the brand to a top-tier Italian olive oil in the U.S. Following its sale, he founded Gaea® North America and educated thousands through his Olive Oil 101 classes, earning over 3 billion media impressions and becoming a respected voice in the industry.
Continuing his commitment to quality EVOO, David launched EVOOGuy.com®, offering consultancy, tastings, and education through a custom-designed Olive Oil truck and his platform Olive Oil 101. He co-founded a think tank with the Mediterranean Diet Roundtable, presented at Yale, and conducted tasting events nationwide. Trained at ONAOO in Italy—the world’s oldest olive oil school—David became a certified professional taster in 2018. His book, Extra Virgin Olive Oil – The Truth In Your Kitchen (2022), further solidifies his role as a leading advocate for high-quality olive oil. Today, he brings this expertise to Millpress Imports and the Seasons brand, supporting Single Estate EVOOs across food service, retail, and private label markets.
